09 December 08 - 17:50Wormtooth Nation

Wormtooth Nation: strangely addicting low-budget, Indie Steampunk movie. Some of the acting is a bit overdone (and goofy), but it's still fun.
"Here in this underground complex reside the last remnants of the human world. How we came here or why are questions that no longer have answers. It is recommended, should you wish to ask such questions, you do so quietly, and in places where you will not be overheard. We have been here a long time, and there are those in power whose desire is to remain, calmly, repairing this city and prolonging our continued existence until the final cave in ends us all in dirt and darkness. Head among those is the overlord of this world, the Baron O'Brien. The Baron's knowledge of the city is such that should he remain in power, the city will remain in operation, producing the food and water we need to survive, and providing us with all the creature comforts we desire, indefinitely. "

08 December 08 - 08:26Obama: Laid-Off Workers Occupying Factory in Chicago Are 'Absolutely Right'

Obama speaks out on behalf of 250 union workers who say they won't leave the factory without what they're owed. Been a while since a president has taken a side - especially the labor side - on an issue like this. Interesting.

YouTube Goes Classic With Global Collaborative Symphony Program
"Starting today until January 28, 2009, musicians are invited to submit two videos: a personal interpretation of an original Tan Dun composition, written specifically for this program, and a talent video designed to demonstrate their musical and technical abilities. The semi-finalists will be selected by an impressive panel made up of members from the London Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic and other orchestras from around the globe. Of course, the YouTube community gets to have their say as well; users will be invited to vote on the semifinalists from February 14, 2009 through February 22, 2009."
